We Couldn't Do It Without You! 

Without volunteers like you, we wouldn't be able to host the wonderful events our Academic Decathlon teams look forward to year after year! There are numerous ways to volunteer, however, there are two volunteer positions that require training which you can find below. If you have any questions, contact your regional director. 

SPEECH EVENT

Please download and print the attached Speech Judge Training Document. This contains both a copy of the score sheet (print TWO) and the standards to use. Please have these handy when you view the video. You will evaluate two students as they go through their prepared and impromptu speeches. Please evaluate the students’ performances based on the standards and place their scores on the score sheets you printed. Bring the completed score sheets with you to your onsite day of training. As a group at your meet, you will determine how each student scored to determine a BASELINE for evaluating the live competition.
